LB’s in Free Agency?

Paul ‘Use the Schwartz, Lone Starr! Use the Schwartz!’  Schwartz of the NY Post has an interesting article about some possible offseason moves by the Gmen.  Schwartz seems to be of the opinion that the Gmen will be focusing on defense in free agency and has a list of possible targets.  The pool of potential free agents is small, considering we are most likely heading into an uncapped year.

Names like Scott Fujita, Keith Bullock or Bertrand Berry sort of scare me, seeing they are all on the wrong side of 30. Look at whats happened to AP at only 31.  Some guys who are intriguing are:

– Angelo Crowell – This guy has been hurt by some biceps issues the last two seasons.  Previous to that, he had over 100 tackles 2 out of 3 years.  An injury risk, however only 28

-Karlos Dansby – We all know this guy can be a beast.  He has two seasons in a row over 100 tackles and the one previous to that 97 stops.  Sure to be a hot item in free agency.

-Pisa Tinoisamoa – Only one year over 100 tackles and also coming off injury.  He may get better in a good system with good coaching.

If the CBA gets signed (C’mon people! ), then the FA class is much bigger.  A young LB that can be coached would be a godsend.  DeMeco Ryans, I’m looking at you! The Gmen need to find their next Kawika Uilani Mitchell.

Bill Parcells as Ziggy Stardust.

Like some cat from Japan, he could lick ’em by smiling
